MICOPEIA began with a deeply personal journey, founded by Rashon Amiel “R. A.” Massey, an author, community herbalist, forager and travel documentarian, whose dedication to plant-based wellness was inspired by his own health challenges with Schwannomatosis. Driven by a passion for time-honored herbal traditions and nurtured through mentorship from pioneer herbalists, Rashon transformed his healing journey into a mission to share the remarkable power of botanicals with others.
More than a brand, MICOPEIA is a movement to reclaim botanical wisdom, to make healing a shared experience, and to nurture a future where natural living is both a practice and a return home.
Our Products
MICOPEIA BOTANICA takes pride in our signature extraction processes, crafted by our founder, R. A. Massey, and refined under the mentorship of two extraordinary healers on Hawai'i's Big Island. Guided by the late Bill Breevort, a pioneer of Chinese herbal medicine, and Kim "Ki'i" Nakamura, a beloved La'au Lapa'au herbalist from the town of Hawi, our methods honor a deep tradition of holistic care and cultural respect.
With an unwavering commitment to the organic movement, we prioritize sustainably wild-harvested plants, herbs, and mushrooms. We support family farmers and small, local businesses and, whenever possible, personally review harvesting sites for the highest standards of quality and ethics. Our goal is to offer the community premium wellness and body care products that are all-natural and responsibly crafted.
True to our values, MICOPEIA BOTANICA’s products are free from synthetic ingredients, sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, phthalates, and petroleum derivatives.
