MICOPEIA Botanica Tea House & Nursery: A New Chapter Begins
After six weeks of dedication, creativity, and a whole lot of love, we are thrilled to announce that the renovations at MICOPEIA Botanica Tea House & Nursery are officially complete! This space is more than just walls and floors—it’s a reflection of our commitment to herbalism, community, and honoring the traditions that have shaped us.
A Slow, Intentional Move-In
We will be gradually transitioning operations of MICOPEIA from rented commercial kitchens and warehouse spaces to our very own flagship location here in St. Joseph, Michigan. Every jar of herbs, every bottle of tincture, and every cup of tea will now be crafted in a space that reflects our values and roots. This new home will bring together our tea blending, herbal product creation, and educational workshops all under one roof.
Welcoming New Life
As we begin this next chapter, the very first elements to enter the space are not furniture or decor—they are living, growing things. The nursery and window sills are already filling with vibrant plants, vegetables, and potted herbs. These green companions are a reminder that growth is a constant journey. Soon, they will become part of our herbal offerings, available for our community to bring into their own homes and gardens.
The grow room nursery is a particularly exciting addition. What was once a cooler has been transformed into a lush sanctuary for nurturing herbs and medicinal plants. Here, we’ll cultivate everything from spearmint and chamomile to medicinal mushrooms, furthering our mission to provide healing directly from the earth.
Honoring Legacy and Ancestors
One of the most meaningful spaces within the tea house is the Legacy and Ancestors Wall. This wall stands as a tribute to the generations of wisdom keepers, healers, and plant knowledge carriers who came before us. It honors both our personal mentors and the ancestral traditions of herbalism from around the world. Every time we brew a cup of tea or share the benefits of a tincture, we carry forward their teachings and celebrate their enduring presence.
