Tea House Renovation Update – Day 25: A Solid Foundation & Exciting New Chapters!

It has been 25 days since we began transforming The Tea House, and the progress has been nothing short of incredible! Every step of this renovation is bringing us closer to creating a space that reflects MICOPEIA’s deep-rooted commitment to herbal wisdom, community, and sustainability. From rebuilding the very floors we stand on to expanding our offerings in ways that will nourish both body and soul, the vision is coming to life before our eyes.

A Stronger Foundation – Quite Literally!

 

One of the biggest milestones so far has been laying the foundation for our new floors. This was no small task! We carefully removed layers of the original wood flooring and panels to rebuild and relevel the base before installing the new wood panels I hand-selected. The precision and craftsmanship that went into this process ensure that The Tea House is not only beautiful but built to last for generations to come.

Walls Are Up, Colors Are In!

In our last update, we were in the final stages of insulation and drywalling, and we’re thrilled to share that this phase is now complete! The new walls are officially up, primed, and have received their first coats of paint. The energy in the space has already shifted—fresh colors breathe new life into every corner, making it feel warm, welcoming, and deeply intentional.

The Vision Takes Shape: New Spaces & Community Offerings

We are now seeing distinct areas come together within The Tea House:

🌿 Utility Room & Kitchen – Essential spaces that will allow us to operate more efficiently and expand what we can offer to you.

🌿 My Office – A dedicated space for blending, researching, and creating the next evolution of MICOPEIA’s teas, tinctures, and educational offerings.

🌿 The Ancestor & Legacy Wall – This is a deeply personal and powerful addition to The Tea House. It serves as a tribute to MICOPEIA’s story, my pioneering herbalist mentors, the history of tea, and the generous supporters who have helped bring this dream to life.

🌱 ANNOUNCING: The MICOPEIA Indoor Herb & Vegetable Nursery!

One of the most exciting developments of this renovation is our ability to create an official indoor herb and vegetable nursery! This means we won’t just be growing our own herbs for teas and tinctures—we’ll also be offering seeds and plants for you to cultivate at home, in your gardens, or greenhouses.

To take this even further, we are currently in talks with Michigan small businesses like MIgardener to officially carry their high-quality, locally sourced seeds in our store. This partnership will allow us to offer an incredible selection of seeds alongside our own plant offerings, empowering our community to grow medicinal and culinary herbs, vegetables, and more with confidence.

Expanding Community Wellness: In-Person Activations Coming Soon!

Beyond herbs and tea, we want to create a space that nourishes the mind, body, and soul. That’s why we are actively reaching out to local certified wellness instructors to coordinate in-person wellness activities at The Tea House.

Some of the experiences we are planning to bring include:

🧘🏽‍♀️ Community Yoga + Tea – Flow into relaxation with guided yoga sessions followed by a warm, grounding cup of MICOPEIA tea.

🎶 Meditation & Sound Bowl Healing – Experience the vibrational healing of sound bowls paired with herbal infusions that enhance relaxation and clarity.

♟️ Board Game Nights & After-Hours Experiences – Imagine unwinding in The Tea House under dim lamp and candlelight, enjoying tea, board games, and meaningful conversations with the community.
